Nathan’s opening-night video shows the party unfold instead of simply checking attractions off a list. He covers 4:00 p.m. entry, treat trails, special characters, merchandise, attraction overlays, the Boo-to-You Parade, fireworks, food, wait times, and new entertainment.
We especially liked seeing Disney add life to areas that could otherwise feel like simple walk-through spaces: Haunted Mansion-inspired characters, a bigger Pirates entertainment moment in Adventureland, and Country Bears greeting guests inside a treat trail.
One of Nathan’s Best Tips: Don’t Rush the Candy:Some trick-or-treat lines can be long early in the evening. Save a few trails for later, when many of those lines become shorter. You paid for a limited number of party hours; spending the opening of the night in a candy queue is rarely the best use of them.

Okay, maybe not literally everything. But Kristen tried 14 party-exclusive items during opening night. Her honest food guide is especially useful because Disney releases so many seasonal options that it’s nearly impossible to try them all yourself.

The dumplings earned a strong review for their spicy gochujang-based sauce, while the Hades Cake Pop may be one of the year’s coolest-looking Halloween desserts.
Not Every Snack Was a Winner:Kristen was also candid about items she would skip, including the Buzzard Wings, Cursed Cowboy Fries, Skullicious Cake, and mini witch-hat dessert. That kind of advance intel can save both money and valuable party time.
We Actually Like Some of the 2026 Changes
Disney fans can be skeptical when something changes, and sometimes that skepticism is justified.
But the opening-night adjustments seem to add personality to the party: Haunted Mansion characters, new entertainment moments, updated treat-trail locations, and specialty food make Magic Kingdom feel like the whole park is participating in Halloween.

Boo-to-You Is Still a Main Reason We Love This Party
Some things do not need reinventing. Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade remains one of them. The music gets stuck in your head for approximately six months—and we consider that a feature, not a bug. If this is your first party, build your evening around it and the fireworks.
Our Rainy Night Experience Last Year
Last year’s party was very wet, but even with weather working against us, we still walked away loving the event. The entertainment, atmosphere, and unique character interactions made the evening memorable—and helped us answer the question everyone asks: is it worth the money?
