Our Honest Review
Our May 2026 stay at Disney’s Contemporary Resort was extremely disappointing.
As frequent Walt Disney World guests, Disney Vacation Club members, Annual
Passholders, and travel advisors, we expected more from a Deluxe Resort.
The Main Concerns
- Significant cleanliness issues in our original room
- Dust, debris, Cheerios, broken electronics, and an old receipt in the second room
- Allergy-related symptoms among several members of our party
- A roach found in the bathroom shower area on our final morning
We appreciated the housekeeping manager’s professionalism and willingness to
help. However, the issues were never fully resolved during our stay, and we
lost valuable vacation time to inspections, cleaning efforts, and follow-up
conversations with resort leadership.
Our takeaway: The Contemporary’s location near Magic Kingdom
remains a major strength, but our experience did not meet the standards we
expect at a Disney Deluxe Resort.
Disney's Response & Service Recovery
We want to acknowledge the housekeeping manager who personally assisted us. She was professional, kind, and genuinely tried to help. Unfortunately, the overall experience fell well below the standards we have come to expect from Disney.
We hope Disney takes these concerns seriously because no guest should have this experience at one of Walt Disney World's flagship resorts.
